The first event of the Triple Crown is now under our belt! Folks started arriving a little after 7:00am to get signed in. The weather was beautiful with partly cloudy and about 78 degrees with a slight breeze to keep you cool. Trailers got parked and unloaded and the talking smack(all in good fun) and camaraderie started.

The drivers meeting and the donut/water consumption began at 8:15 and at 8:30 the track went hot. We had 3 run groups with 30 minute sessions with a total of 6 sessions. The track started off in the morning a few of the folks tried slicks for this event and were pleasantly surprised with the times they were turning. Around noon we broke for lunch to have a bite to eat and be ready for the afternoon sessions. The afternoon was dry and people started turning even better times. Compared to last year there were several that had better times by more than one or two seconds.

We did have a couple black flags for all due to a few cars getting off track or from mechanical difficulties, but the upside was no one was hurt. We started wrapping up around 4:00 with trailers being loaded and trophies being awarded. There was a total of 19 racers for the day. All in all it was a great way to kick off the Triple Crown for this year. All in all everyone had a fantastic event. See you at Caterpillar autocross on July 21st.
