Summer 2017 Cruise: Racine Wisconsin

Another great viper cruise is under our belt! On Saturday July 15th, we cruised up to Racine, Wisconsin. Gathering at one of our usual meeting spots, the woodfield mall in Schaumberg, 15 vipers cruised to eat lunch where we picked up a couple more vipers. After lunch we headed to SC Johnson’s global headquarters where we picked up 4 more vipers. We were able to tour the offices which were very interesting incluing the old offices that were set up just like it was in the 1950’s and climbing 45 narrow steps in the old research tower to see where many of their products were developed. We were also shown SC Johnson’s founder and son’s offices, as well as the founder’s home. We were also able to see the Johnson family home, Wingsspread, which was designed by Frank Loyd Wright.

From there we traveled to Windpoint Lighthouse, which is on the national registry of historic places. It was a really beautiful setting right on the water. After the tours we headed to dinner at the Brat Stop Restaurant  for some brats, and since it was Larry Friends birthday we sang happy birthday to him.. After dinner most headed home but a few of us stopped by Larry and Nancy Friend’s house for some desert and a tour of their home and Viper garage. We then said our goodbyes and started home after another great Viper cruise. We hope you see you on the next one!
