The Pit

Every year our beloved dealership Roanoke Motor Company holds a Mopar car show on their lots. New cars are moved off the lot to make room for call the Mopars rumbling in to town to be shown off.

The day probably had the best weather ever experienced in the history of the car show. A great cool breeze, 80 degrees, and sunshine.

Folks either preregistered for the car show, or paid a bit more to register the day of the event. People began to arrive at 9:00am to park and prep their cars. As always we had a Viper section along the outside lane of the lot. The club once again had a huge showing. Over 20 Vipers made it to the show.

The show had its second greatest showing of cars as 105 total vehicles were on display. That makes for almost 20% of all cars were Vipers! The afternoon had a good number of locals passed through to see the show.

Around 3:30 the awards presentations began. Everyone gathered near the DJ as the top 30 awards and group awards were handed out to all the participants.

The voting was done by a combination of judges and also popular vote. Our winners in the Viper class were: 1st Jim Hampton, 2nd Scott Tallyn, 3rd Glenn Davis. Scott also took an award for best engine! Congrats to all of our club's winners!

The day ended around 4:00pm as people began to pack up their things. It was an incredibly relaxing day and nothing beat the weather. Thanks all for coming out and a big thinks from John Gastman to all those who drove their Vipers hours to support the show! We support our dealership, heck most of our cars were purchased from them! So big thanks to John for being such a big friend and supporter of the club as well!
