Go-Kart Is Sacrificed In Pile Up
What could you do on a cold and snowy day in Chicago… How about go-karting? That’s what club members and their family and friends did on March 11. We had a total of 22 racers showed up with spectators in tow. It turned out to be a good size group of people.
The first 12 laps were practice laps but you could tell the competition was on. The second round of 14 laps was the qualifying laps. There was a couple of “bumped” walls and one pile up! Luckily no one was hurt with the exception of just one go-kart that decided the competition was too fierce for it. So another one was added and they were off again. The final round brought out the racers that wanted to win!
After the racing was complete some awards and trophies were given out to the best of the best. We then headed over to the grill for lunch where the winners exercised their bragging rights and talked strategy.
Everyone had a good time and even stated they would love to see this added as a yearly event!
